✳ Hello
About the single mum blog
Hello, I'm so glad you're here. I'm a single mum in the UK raising two brilliant, opinionated small people on one income — and this blog is where I keep everything that actually works for us.
Here's the thing nobody tells you: solo parenting on a budget doesn't have to feel like a consolation prize. Our life is full of pasta that gets eaten without negotiation, free days out that the kids still talk about weeks later, rainy Saturdays saved by a bag of flour and some food colouring, and a meal plan that keeps the food shop at £35 a week without anyone feeling hard done by. I call it boujee on a budget — the good life, solo-parented.
You'll find five things here: fussy-eater food that survives contact with actual children, free days out (mostly London, because that's home), rainy-day activities that don't require a craft cupboard, honest money & savings talk with zero shame attached, and the school life juggle — lunchboxes, uniforms, the lot.
What you won't find: pity, perfection, or anything I haven't actually done myself on a Tuesday night after work. If I recommend it, it's because it earned its place in our week.
Put the kettle on and have a nose about. And if something here makes your week a little easier or a little nicer — that's the whole point.
A note on affiliate links: some posts contain affiliate links. If you buy something through one of them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you — it helps keep the lights on here, and I only ever link to things I genuinely use and rate.
